Shared Resource Modern-Day Enslavement
Enslavement still exists in today's society. In this Authentic Learning Unit, students investigate modern-day enslavement and compare it with what existed as part of America's history. They will consider the causes and effects of both historic and modern-day enslavement. They will research modern abolitionist movements and compare them with those recorded as part of history. Students will inform others of modern-day enslavement, potential impacts at the local and/or state level, and next steps to ensure freedom for all in the future.
